Virginie Morgand’s cheeky illustrations, designed for young and older eyes, are filled with characters, crowds, dynamic scenes where vibrant colours meet strong lines and smooth forms. She first began her career as an animator before diving into illustration, working in children’s literature, press, advertising and screen-printing. It’s difficult to resist her powerful compositions, their simplicity almost concealing the artist’s skillful technique and mastery. Her characters are deliciously vintage, the 60’s hints recall Raymond Savignac’s work, and her style is as bubbly as champagne!
Virginie has collaborated with brands such as l’Occitane, Méridien hotels, Christian Dior, Gucci, JCrew, Tara Jarmon and Cyrillus. The Barbican Centre, the London Transport Museum, Grand Palais, Centre Pompidou, l’Opéra de Lyon, Champs Elysées Film Festival and la Mairie de Paris have also been charmed by her distinctive style and her festival posters often find themselves in Konbini’s TOPAFF ranking of the top 100 most beautiful posters of the year. Virginie also illustrates for press editions such as The NewYorker, The NewYork Times, The Sunday Times, Elle, Les Inrocks, Télérama, America and La Revue Dessinée.
